Problem statement

  • The ISA committees have early checkpoints, the software committees (responsible for the later ecosystem enablement) see specifications and plan documents late in the process (e.g., missing PoC items will become an issue at signoff for freeze).
  • Impact on the Software ecosystem (and enforcement of the Plan milestone) needs to be added early 

The SW Arch Review Committee consisting of the chairs of:

  • Applications & Tools HC
  • Privileged Software HC
  • SoC Infrastructure HC

and their delegates.

Security already has a review/veto on all specifications.

First steps (Dec 2022)

  • Review of our policies to identify the “hooks” we need to tie into.
  • Review of in-flight specifications
    • We will invite some chairs/proponents to discuss their PoC and enablement plans with us over the next weeks.
