Bio

Nick Kossifidis is a principal research engineer at the FORTH research center in Greece, with extensive experience in networking, systems software, and security. He has worked as an IT security consultant and penetration tester for Fortune 500 companies on high profile projects, and is an active contributor on security and software related topics within the RISC-V technical committee and the RISC-V community in general. Nick has multiple contributions in open source projects, including various subsystems of the Linux kernel, and is currently working on the bringup, validation, and optimization process of various RISC-V prototypes of the European Processor Initiative (EPI). He is also an activist and open source advocate, with an interest in community wifi networks and radio stations, open public data, open governance, and privacy.

Bio

A SoC Advocate for open Source for Future IC CHIP Design, an Avid Fan for RISCV ISA since 2010.  I am a former IC Design Engineer from Japanese Company a pioneering employee in 1995 and advocating IC CHIP Design in Philippines utilizing the RISCV open ISA since 2009, I am currently the meetup coordinator for RISCV Taguig-Manila Philippines where I personally connect with many High Tech Individuals, industries all over the world involving Fabrication, Technology and Manufacturing Solutions. I have more than 25+ years of intensive design experience and application engineering in both CHIP Level and Embedded Application Projects. I am strongly committed to learning, gaining and to contribute to the long term progress of the RISCV ISA in both academe and community.

Bio

Iakovos has over 20 years of experience in the Computer Graphics and Semiconductor industry. As CTO of Think Silicon, he builds multidisciplinary teams co-designing HW and SW that deliver Ultra Low power Graphics Processors to market. He has a strong technology track record in bringing new technology innovation from concept to implementation and subsequently to commercial products. He has worked for Advanced Rendering Technology in the UK and USA, where he co-engineered the first Ray Tracing Graphics Engine chip and in Greece where he successfully led teams of engineers in Atmel’s Multimedia and Communication Business Unit and founded Think Silicon, pioneering microGPUs that enabled ambient IoT Devices to display smartphone-like in ultra low power budget. He has a DPhil from the Centre for VLSI and Computer Graphics of the University of Sussex, UK

Statement of Intent

I believe that representation of Organizations and Individuals in the TSC is very important for the RISC-V ecosystem, and necessary to maintain an unbiased and vendor-neutral approach to the technical review process. Open Source to me is a way of life, I know what it means for an Organization to try participating in the process, and as a long-time Open Source contributor I also know what it means for Individuals to try and fit in such a large project with many large companies involved. Even though we only have one seat in the TSC, I want to make it count.

Statement of Intent

A motivated and enthusiastic professional engineer, experienced in system development for almost 25+ years in various industries such as semiconductor and manufacturing, developing and implementing innovative application services, strong understanding of design methodologies and issues having worked in multiple disciplines, research and development, technology innovations and chip design environment of various systems level integrated circuit processes, embedded hardware, production machines, security and safety, and software application services implementation, information technology, cloud applications, and related sciences. Intent to seek a role in the community of open source instruction architecture, implementation, and documentation with scope for both management and technical challenge, career progression, leadership, and possibly customer coordination and interaction, very willing to work in the new normal post-pandemic event either voluntary or with a stipend, to start immediately and relocate upon request for roles such as marketing, engineering, technical and management post specifically to RISCV dot org.

Statement of Intent

Actively involved in enabling RISC-V adoption in GPU and ML Accelerators. RISC-V ecosystem can be spread to more than just CPUs, enabling custom heterogenous application specific accelerator that will scale from microcontroller IoT based devices all the way to server based applications
